Matthew Simon is a Digital Forensics Specialist at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI). He is an expert digital forensics practitioner and an academic researcher. Matthew works in the Digital Forensics Laboratory (DFL) that provides incident response, training and digital forensics laboratory support to the 190 INTERPOL member countries.
Matthew has a PhD by research in digital forensics and a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours from the University of South Australia. He has a passion for technology especially in regards to law enforcement, electronic evidence cyber security and privacy.
Prior to working with INTERPOL, Matthew spent almost five years as an Electronic Evidence Specialist with the Electronic Crime Section of the South Australia Police in Australia. He is highly experienced in computer and mobile forensics. He has worked actively with police investigators on many serious criminal matters and has provided expert reports and oral expert testimony in numerous cases.
